We stopped by Hvammstagi on our way down from Akureyri to Reykjavík just to visit this wool shop.
It is a remarkable shop because it had variety of wool wear styles that I did not encounter anywhere else in Iceland; for example, the wool sweaters without sleeves with hoodie were very unique; also the wool ponchos looked very cool and I would’ve purchased one if I could rock the look.
Much more positive to say about this shop, but I’ll just encourage you to simply visit and see for yourself.

This wool hat is beautifully crafted and is warm and comfortable to wear. I love the color selections (especially the color I chose “Rusty-Orange”). It is a pleasure to shop from the people at KIDKA. I will definitely share my joyful experience with my friends and look forward to future purchases of fine wool clothing from KIDKA. I visited the Kidka store in Iceland two years ago and bought myself two sweaters. Decided to buy my wife a cardigan sweater for her birthday. She loves her sweater! Great colors and very well made. Ordering online was so easy. Sizes do run a bit small so you need to order a size up.

The puffin pouches are beautiful, fun and very well made. I bought them as gifts and the recipients are very happy to have them!

Well-stocked KIDKA factory shop, located off the ring road. It's worth the detour, there are great clothes and accessories made from Icelandic wool in excellent quality and at reasonable prices (tax-free from 6,000 ISK). We found what we were looking for and highly recommend a visit.

Recommended if you can knit. The real Iceland wool is really cheap there, would pay much more in Germany....

Great factory outlet for wool products of all kinds. Here you will find the classic Icelandic sweater in all possible designs, but also hats, scarves, gloves, ponchos... something for everyone. The prices are rather moderate compared to other shops and in relation to the very good quality.

Excellent store with good prices (for Iceland) since they make them right there. They have very good quality sheep wool sweaters, both handmade and factory made. I bought mine for 18,990 ISK. The clerk was super friendly and explained the tax refund perfectly.

Great quality and price for the items! You can see the factory just behind the store window and you already feel the craftsmanship! Bought myself a Lopapeysa as a souvenir from Iceland. And also had a great chat with the salesperson. Definitely recommend to visit Kidka! 😊
